The Willowick community has had a long, proud tradition of being a wonderful place to spend a lifetime. Our 15,000 residents will be the first to tell of their faith, their families, and their friends in Willowick. With our slogan of “Great Living on a Great Lake,” we have redefined our city as a waterfront community.
On any summer evening Lakefront Park is full of families, bicyclists, seniors and groups of friends taking in one of the many beautiful sunsets that kiss the shores of our city each night. Our Sunday evening Concerts in the Park series provides a variety of music entertainment in the serenity of an outdoor setting.
As the gateway to Lake County, we are just 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland. It is a quick commute to sporting events, the Theater District, Severance Hall and the Cleveland Orchestra, restaurants, museums and the Cleveland Zoo. It is also a short trip to world-class healthcare at the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals.
Perhaps the greatest attribute of Willowick is its people and the sense of community. With the reputation of being welcoming and friendly, Willowick residents of all ages take pride in their community and care deeply about their city and their neighbors.
We strive to improve the quality of life for our residents. There are many opportunities for our citizens to engage in events and programs through the Recreation Department. From sports leagues to flea markets and holiday craft shows to the annual Water Show, our programs offer something for people of all ages. Our thriving Senior Center is designed to help our seniors stay connected to a community and enhance their lives through a wide variety of social activities, a fitness room, exercise classes, day trips, arts and crafts, and many other offerings.
Our churches and the religious communities have long provided a spiritual environment for residents of all ages and faiths. Royalview Elementary and Willowick Middle Schools have served as outstanding learning environments for our children. Their reputations as excellent schools are well-known and well-deserved.
Once you visit Willowick, you can understand why our residents say, “There’s no place like home.”
