Welcome to the City of Eastlake! Located about 20 miles east of Cleveland, Eastlake is a city rich in history with an eye toward the future. Eastlake is home to Classic Park, the home field of the Lake County Captains, a Class A minor league baseball team affiliated with the Cleveland Indians. Eastlake has many things to see and do, including parks and heritage sites.
Eastlake is home to several heritage sites where visitors from all over the world come to pay tribute to the fallen–The Boulevard of 500 Flags, The America Remembers 9/11 Memorial, and The War Dog Memorial. These incredible memorials include a section of grass from flight 93 that crashed in Shankland, PA, a piece of granite from the Pentagon, and a steel beam and light post from the Twin Towers in New York City. In 2002, a Memorial was built in Eastlake to honor the dogs that served to protect our Service People during World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Attached to a dog park, its unique location made it the first in the United States where residents can bring their dogs and let them run.
Eastlake has been the Home of the Lake County Captains since 2001 and The Miracle League of Lake County since the summer of 2018. The Miracle League is a baseball league designed for special needs children and adults. Eastlake is 1 of 6 cities in Ohio that have this special field and all-inclusive playground. The inaugural season was made up of 6 teams and we look forward to another great and more expanded season in 2019.
